Bead Blasting
Bead Blasting involves removing surface deposits by applying fine glass beads at various regulated pressures. Unlike some harsher Shot Blasting methods, this is done without damaging the surface, thus making it suitable for soft metals and plastics and ideal for polishing stainless steel.
Also known as glass bead peening, Bead Blasting offers a number of benefits:
- It produces a perfectly clean uniform finish on even the most awkward of shapes, thus making it an ideal solution for the food, beverage and leisure industries when polishing stainless steel.
- Unlike with heavy mechanical polishing, there is no accidental folding over of metal on welds, etc.., thus reducing the opportunities for micro biological organisms to manifest. Another important factor for the food industry.
- Following Bead Blasting there is no acid weeping from joints and box sections, meaning no unsightly streaking and contamination on the finished surface.
- Additionally, there is no impingement of ferrous contamination into the surface.
